Engineering in World of Warcraft is one of the most interesting and diverse professions available. It is loaded with fun to use and fun to build little gadgets that can make almost any task a bit more entertaining. It is also one of the harder and more expensive to level professions and for anyone interested in turning their profession into a cash cow, it can take a bit of work along the way. For that reason, a good World of Warcraft engineering guide is highly recommended to get you through your profession from start to finish.
The Basics
To get started with engineering, you first need to know exactly what you want to build with your profession. For many, there is little difference because the same items will make you gold at Level 450. However, for others a decision may need to be made between Gnomish and Goblin Engineering. For those interested in Gnomish, you will focus more intensely on utility and trinket items while Goblin engineers will work with combat and bomb related items. You can train in either when you reach level 200. The gnomish trainer is in Gadgetzan and is known as Oglethorpe Obnoticus while the goblin trainer is in Booty Bay and is known as Buzzek Bracketswin. You can also find trainers in Dalaran where you can also now untrain your skills when you desire.
What You’ll Need
Before you get started in leveling up your profession, you’ll need a good list of materials to get you to Level 450. This is a raw list of everything you will need to buy to level up straight to 450. Leveling Engineering
The core of any good World of Warcraft engineering guide is how to get to Level 450 and that starts right here. Below you will find steps to which schematics to buy, when to craft items and how to level as you go:
Level 1-75
Start out by training as an apprentice with your trainer in a capital city. Then buy the following schematics:
• Schematic: Blue/Red/Green Firework – Vendor in Booty Bay or Ironforge
• Schematic: Thorium Widget – Vendor in Orgrimmar or Ironforge
• Schematic: Thorium Tube – Vendor in Winterspring
After you have acquired your schematics you should start building the following items to reach Level 75:
• Craft Rough Blasting Powder until you reach Level 40.
• Craft Copper Bolts until you reach level 50. Save these for later.
• Craft your Arclight Spanner at Level 50
• Craft Copper Tubes until you reach level 65.
• Craft Rough Boomsticks until you reach Level 75.
You’ve reached the end of Part 1 of our World of Warcraft Engineering Guide. In Part 2 you’ll learn how to advance your skill from Levels 75-450: WoW Engineering Guide.
