World of Warcraft Horde Guide

Of all the different MMOs out there and all the fantasy clichés, blizzard has always made their Horde “bad guys” unique in a number of ways. To start with, they aren’t all that bad. They’re just different from Humans and Dwarves and for many people that by default makes them bad. But the truth of the matter is that the Horde, which includes Orcs, Trolls, Forsaken Undead, Taurens, and Blood Elves is a bit of a mishmash of different races that have been left out, forgotten, or mistreated in some way. Sure, some of them are bad and a lot of them are violent, but they’re relatable and many times they’re quite likable.

This is what makes World of Warcraft such a unique game and so many players happy to take on the side of the Horde. They are a truly relatable set of characters with unique personalities and a whole lot of options when it comes to how you play them, both from a standard play mindset and from an RP mindset.

The Races of the Horde

This World of Warcraft Horde guide cannot possibly show you everything you need to know about the Horde, its motivations and its leaders, but it can give you a brief introduction to each race and what has brought them together to fight both the humans of the Alliance and the other vile people out there including the Scourge and the Lich King.

World of Warcraft Horde Guide – The Orcs

The Orcs are based out of Orgrimmar in Durotar and their leader is Thrall. They are formerly from Draenor or Outland and have expanded greatly there since the portal reopened. Their goal is to embrace their once shamanistic ways and to defeat the evil magic of the demons and scourge that have taken their lands. There are numerous orc clans in the game and a number of highly involved bits of lore tracing back to the first games in the series.

Orcs can play as Death Knights, Hunters, Rogues, Shamans, Warlocks, and Warriors. Their racial mount is a Wolf and they have the following racial traits:

•    Blood Fury – Increases Attack Power for 15 Seconds
•    Hardiness – Reduces the duration of all stun effects on them by 15%
•    Command – Damage dealt by all pets increased by 5%
•    Axe Specialization – Expertise with Axes and 2H Axes boosted by 5.

World of Warcraft Horde Guide – The Trolls

The trolls in World of Warcraft that are playable belong to the Darkspear Tribe, lead by Shadowhunter Vol’jin. They are originally from a small chain of islands located in the Great Sea and have since relocated to Sen’Jin Village in Durotar to rebuild. They share a capital with the orcs currently and are highly indebted to them for saving their tribe. There are a number of other trolls in the game that are not friendly to either faction and that extend the lore for this race quite a bit.

Trolls can play as Death Knights, Hunters, Mages, Priests, Rogues, Shamans, and Warriors. Their racial mount is a Raptor and they have the following traits:

•    Berskerking – Increases attack and casting speed for 10 seconds.
•    Regeneration – Increases health regeneration by 10% and works during combat.
•    Beast Slaying – Adds a +5% damage boost against beasts.
•    Throwing Weapon Specialization – Increases Throwing Weapon critical chance by 1%.
•    Bow Specialization – Increases Bow critical chance by 1%.
•    Da Voodoo Shuffle – Reduces the duration of movement impairing effects by 15%.
