The Auction House
This WoW gold guide is not going to talk much about the intricacies of things like farming and scavenging because those things are covered so much in depth everywhere else. The big key to making gold in World of Warcraft and something that any World of Warcraft gold guide worth its weight in coin will tell you is through the auction house.
You have probably heard this a few times before and the truth is that you should have. The Auction House is easily the most effective, high stakes, big reward location in the game for those who have the knowhow and wherewithal to go in and start making bids on certain materials. However, the key to auction house success is not in just going there and selling your materials to whomever will have them – it is in going out of your way to ensure that the people there sell to you at lower costs and buy from you at higher costs.
You need to beat the set in prices and take advantage of key times during server up-time. The first key is to having the right materials. A WoW gold guide will tell you that crafting materials are the top of the list. This is true, but not all crafting materials are worth your while.
The ones you should look out for are the highest level ones with constant demand that are used at Level 80 or for speed leveling a profession. This includes the high proccing herbs for Inscription, all of the rare ores (silver, gold, truesilver, khorium, and titanium), and the various different forms of cloth, and orbs out there used for high level crafting. Titanium especially is a big one right now.
Other items that sell well at the auction house include twink items for Level 19 and 29 characters, rare pets, seasonal items that are currently out of season, gems of essentially any kind, class sets, and any rare items that are hard to find and provide something status based (mostly vanity items here).
Turning it Into a Fortune
In the end, the key to making a fortune with a WoW gold guide is to know what your customers want. You need to be able to perform your crafts, farm your materials and sell them all at the auction house as quickly and for as much gold as possible. In addition, you need to be able to buy items at auction for lower than they normally sell for and then flip them for big profits – a task that not everyone can do. It takes time, a keen eye for economics and an effective record keeping system to go along with your Auctioneer data. If you can do that, you will make good chunks of gold in no time.
