WoW Herbalism Guide

This is Part 2 of our WoW Herbalism Guide, for Part 1 go to World of Warcraft Herbalism Guide.

Level 150-225

Train as an Expert in Herbalism to start with and then travel to the Wetlands where you can farm on Briarthorn, Kingsblood, and Liferoot until you reach Level Level 175. Next, travel to Arathi Highlands and farm on Bruiseweed, Fadeleaf, Golthorn, Liferoot, and Khadgar’s Whiskers. You will also find that Swamp of Sorrows is good for Horde characters up to Level 200 or so and Tanaris is good for Firebloom and Purple Lotus up to Level 225.

Level 225-300

At Level 225, you need to train as an Artisan and then start farming for Goldthorn and Liferoot in Feralas until you reach Level 230. From there, you can snag Sungrass pretty much anywhere you look. Golden Sansam also becomes available in Feralas at this time – farm these until you reach level 275.

At Level 275, go to Un’Goro Crater or Azshara and start farming for Golden Sansam, Dreamfoil, or Mountain Silversage to Level 285. At that level, go to the Plaguelands and start farming on Plaguebloom. One run of those zones for Plaguebloom should get you to Level 300 pretty quickly.

Level 300-375

Start out by traveling to Thrallmar or Honor Hold and training as a Master in Herbalism. Then start farming for Gromsblood and Dreamfoil back in Felwood until you reach Level 340. Return to Outland at that point and farm for Felweed in Hellfire Peninsula to reach Level 350. To finish reaching Level 375, either skip to Northrend or start farming on Dreamfoil, Felweed, Ancient Lichen, Dreaming Glory, and Terocone off the mobs in Zangarmarsh or in Terokkar Forest.

Level 375-450

Start by training as a Grand Master in your starting town in Northrend. Then start farming for Goldclover. This should get you up to Level 385 or so in Howling Fjord or Borean Tundra. At level 385, travel to Zul’Drak and start picking Talandra’s Rose – you must be Level 75 to farm here though. Pick Tiger Lily as well in Borean Tundra or Grizzly Hills until you reach Level 415.

At Level 425, you should travel to the Storm Peaks or Sholazar Basin and start picking Lichbloom and Adder’s Tongue to reach Level 435, followed by Icethorn to reach Level 450.

Making Gold

The last thing to know about Herbalism is how to turn the profession into some cold hard cash. In many cases, it can be time consuming and problematic at best to guess what will transform into gold. However, if you carefully track the auction house and how the various herbs move, you can start to pick out which ones turn over better. Here is a list of herbs that tend to sell for higher than others. The best of the bunch are bolded:

•    Bruiseweed
•    Khadgar’s Whisker
•    Fadeleaf
•    Goldthorn
•    Sungrass
•    Blindweed
•    Ghost Mushroom
•    Gromsblood
•    Golden Sansam
•    Dreamfoil
•    Plaguebloom
•    Black Lotus
•    Ancient Lichen
•    Netherbloom
•    Goldclover
•    Tiger Lily
•    Talandra’s Rose
•    Adder’s Tongue
•    Lichbloom
•    Icethorn
•    Frost Lotus

If you focus on the herbs listed above more than any others, you will have a much easier time of flipping a profit on them on any given day. Most WoW herbalism guides will tell you to diversify your farming as well to avoid any overcrowded areas (the latter herbs in Northrend are tough, but early game herbs can be completely left alone at times).
