Note: This is part 2 of our WoW Leveling Guide, Part 1 is here: World of Warcraft Leveling Guide.
• No Gear Upgrades – Because you will be completing only quests, you will likely find that your characters get all the gear they need as you go forward. Until you reach Level 80, there is no reason to buy any gear.
• Get Your Mounts – Players can now get a land mount at Level 20 and then 40. Make sure that you have the 6 gold needed to get your Level 20 mount and then when you hit Level 40. This can dramatically boost your leveling speed by making it easier to get around.
• Always Log Out in a Town – Whenever you log out at the end of the day, I recommend you hearth back to your nearest town and log out in the inn. Not only will this make it so you can get whatever supplies you need when you log-in the next day, while also not having to spend much time worrying about running back, but you will gain rested XP for a small period of time when you login next. Sometimes, it only lasts a few minutes, but it is a 200% boost on your XP gain that will add up over the course of the game.
Questing
In addition to having your character streamlined to minimize mindless errands, you should never complete anything but quests. Any good WoW leveling guide will tell you this over and over again and they are right. For most of the game, finding these quests and completing them is relatively easy though.
For instance, most quests are centralized. You will go to a town or a camp and find between 2 and 6 NPCs who hand out quests. Grab all of those quests and then complete them all at once. When done, turn the quests in together and get the next set to move on to higher levels. Not only do you get tremendous amounts of bonus XP from completing quests, you get the XP you gain from killing mobs in those quests.
Add-ons To Install
The last thing I can recommend to severely reduce time spent in the game on quests is a handful of add-ons and mods that make your gameplay a bit easier. These add-ons are completely legal to use and are easy to install. They also run smoothly in the game and have been tested extensively.
• Cartographer/Tom-Tom – There are a few map-mod add-ons that will add enhanced navigation to your mini-map and main map. Things like coordinates on the main screen and major quest hubs can be marked this way. They also unlock entire maps before you explore them so you don’t get lost.
• Quest Helper – This mod will add an additional bit of information for each quest you get, telling you where to go and what needs to be done (since some quests are confusing). With your map mod, this will make it easy to find just about anything.
• TitanPanel – This mod will add a simple pane across the top of your window that shows you vital information about your character and current status including bag slots, XP needed to level up, gold count and more.
These three mods will all help you make your game a bit faster and easier to navigate, ultimately speeding up your leveling time exponentially.
With the tips in this WoW leveling guide, you should be heads and tails above most other beginning players in the game. For many, this will be plenty to help get you to level 80 in good time.
